Bishop Kevin Doran of Elphin-Ireland, Ordains two new Priests for the Diocese of Kumba – Cameroon.

On Weds 6th September, Kumba Diocese saw the Priestly ordinations of two of their Deacons who did their Theological formation in Ireland. The Bishop of Elphin Diocese (Ireland), Dr. Kevin Doran, himself ordained them at Kumba. It was a lock down in the northwest and southwest region of Cameroon. But about 90% of the Christians made it on foot. The mass was amazingly massively attended.

The Bishop in brief Homily traced the origin of every vocation in the words of the prophet Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb”…He acknowledged the collegiality with himself and Bishop Agapitus…Lastly did not fail to mention the faith of the Irish People. Their lack of priests was a lamentable situation, because they knew the faith as early as the 5th century.
At the end of the 3hrs long Mass, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kumba, Mgr Agapitus Nfon, was filled with much delight and gratitude first to the Bishop of Elphin and to the Faithful who showed their faith in their massive attendance. He equally shared how our relationship with the Diocese of Elphin began, and prayed the bond remains every solid and fruitful.
