On the 8th June 2024, Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, His Lordship, Mgr Agapitus Nfon, Bishop of the Diocese of Kumba, issued an appointment letter which made St. Joseph Mission Station a Pastoral Zone. Fr. Tim Njume was appointed pioneer Rector.
On the 17th of October 2023, the Diocese of Kumba Launched its 5th Diocesan Pastoral Week celebration. The first day was dedicated to Action and Apostolic Groups and Music Directors. The team of the Pastoral Week was taken from the theme of the Message of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, for Mission Sunday 2023: "Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move"
Kumba Diocese holds its 3rd pastoral Council on Saturday 7th October 2023 in the presence of the Bishop, the Diocesan Pastoral Council Chairperson and a cream of Pastoral Agents.
On Wednesday 11th October, the Sisters of St. Therese buried on of theirs, Sr. Susan Mechang Koggerson, who passed away on Tuesday 3rd October after a protracted illness. She hails from Baseng village, Kupe Manenguba Division, South West Region Cameroon.
On Weds 6th September, Kumba Diocese saw the Priestly ordinations of two of their Deacons who did their Theological formation in Ireland. The Bishop of Elphin Diocese (Ireland), Dr. Kevin Doran, himself ordained them at Kumba. It was a lock down in the northwest and southwest region of Cameroon. But about 90% of the Christians made it on foot. The mass was amazingly massively attended.
The Diocese of Kumba has set the stage for an important event in the ecclesiastical calendar – the 75th ordinary session of the Bamenda Province Episcopal Conference (BAPECK) for the year 2023. This year's conference promises significant discussions and reflections on various pastoral aspects, with a particular focus on education.
